Calm & Cool Adolescents
Keep Growing Blind/Deaf Puppies Calm, Collected and Well-Behaved
Your adorable and cuddly young puppy is growing up - no longer a baby, but not yet an adult dog. Adolescent puppies are going through many changes physically, mentally and emotionally. These changes can affect their behavior and their responsiveness to our requests. They may seem more distracted by the world around them, and they seem to have boundless excitement and energy.
Understanding and providing for our puppies' needs during this time can help us to preserve all the appropriate behaviors we love while preventing other not-so-appreciated habits from developing.
This 4-week virtual class will help you understand the changes that your puppy is going through during adolescence. We will explore how to use tools and new skills to keep their focus even with distractions going on, using appropriate exercise and enrichment to provide for their needs and encourage calm, focused behaviors, and along the way we will teach some fun tricks and games to remind us not to take things so seriously.
This class is set up as a hybrid class, meaning that you have access to pre-recorded lessons and resources each week to watch on your own. Then you will have a live zoom session with your instructor to help you implement and practice the lessons with your own dog in real time. These zoom sessions will be scheduled with you once you're registered.
Class is suitable for puppies from 5-12 months, and instruction is tailored to puppies with visual and/or hearing impairments, but puppies of all abilities are welcome to join us!
