Getting Started with Your Blind or Blind Deaf Puppy
Set your visually-impaired puppy up for a great life with this fun and informative puppy course!
If you're here, you most likely have adopted or are fostering a puppy who is blind or blind and deaf. When considering blindness in a puppy, the amount of vision they have can range from only a slight difference all the way up to not being able to see anything at all. How your puppy sees the world has an impact on everything that they do, feel, and learn.
Puppyhood is such a special time. Yes, puppies are adorable and playful and cuddly, and they bring us laughter and joy. They're only this little once. Puppyhood is also a crucial time for our puppies to learn about the world and our expectations for them living alongside us. They go through a variety of developmental stages as they grow, and each one is important.
It's crucial to help our blind puppies learn that the world is a safe place, and this needs to be done a bit differently when they aren't getting key information visually. What your puppy misses by not being able to see, may leave them feeling a bit concerned. It's important that everything you do with your puppy is adapted and tailored to their specific needs and how they perceive the world.
In this course, I'll teach you how to set up the socialization and teaching environment to account for your puppy's different sensory abilities to keep them feeling safe and happy throughout. And, we'll have plenty of fun along the way!
This course is designed so it's available to you right away, whenever you bring your puppy home - because that's when you'll need it the most. There's no waiting. Just dive right into the material while that adorable puppy is napping in your lap.
This self-paced course is designed to give you information that is specifically tailored to working with puppies with low or no vision (and puppies who are deaf as well as blind). You will only learn positive reinforcement and choice-centered teaching methods here, which will help you set up your puppy for success from the start!
It's important to keep blind puppies feeling safe and secure while also encouraging their self-confidence through exploring, socializing and games. This course will cover everything you need to know to get started and set your blind puppy up for their best life ever! Each lesson has a recorded lesson covering a range of puppy topics from common puppy behaviors like mouthing, to how to choose navigational tools, and the best ways to play with blind puppies.
